Job Description:

My client is seeking the right candidate for a rewarding career as a Senior Level Pipeline Integrity Management Engineer. 

This individual is responsible for all aspects of the pipeline Integrity Management Programs (US DOT 192, Subpart O) and the Canadian rules. The responsibilities also include compliance with any additional State requirements for this program, for example the Texas Railroad Commission rules.

This individual will serve as a technical expert and will work closely with external consultants and contractors to determine appropriate inspection methods, analysis of the inspection results, and remediations. This includes all aspects of a complete program including both office and field work. Responsibilities involve high consequence area (HCA) identification, data gathering including review of historical pipeline records from various sources, all steps involved with Direct Assessment inspection methodologies, pressure testing, population surveys, risk based analysis, updating of the databases, coordinating inspections, review of the data, coordinating repairs, cost & budget estimates, communications with regulators and auditors, and also company personnel and managers.

The scope of this assignment includes all company regulated pipelines including USDOT regulated pipeline in Texas, Louisiana, California, Ohio, Kansas, and Canada. The bulk of the work will initially be in TX, LA, & CA. This individual should have strong communication skills, as the position will require communication with various people inside and outside the company including DOT auditors, OPS staff (Federal, State, etc.)

Required:
- 2 years experience in Pipeline Integrity Management programs
- 8 years experience in gas, chemical, or petroleum industry in any of following areas: maintenance, operations, design, project engineering or management
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
-Travel can be as much as 30%

Preferred:
- Additional 5 years or more of pipeline specific experience in design, operations, maintenance, or project management.
- Professional Engineering registration and NACE certification are desired
- Knowledge or experience in database management
- Knowledge or experience in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and digital mapping systems
- Good understanding of DOT regulations
- Advanced understating of external and internal pipeline corrosion & corrosion protection, cathodic protection.
