Corporate Controller

• Designed and implemented an annual budget process for this real estate portfolio with annual revenues of $30 million.
• Responsible for the integrity of financial information and systems.
• Publish monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and various lender and investor reporting requirements.
• Establish and maintain banking relationships.
• Assist operations management to develop and implement operational procedures.
• Coordinate all aspects of annual audit and tax reporting with big four auditors and tax accountants.
• Direct the accounting for acquisitions, including 20 properties acquired over the last two years.
• Supervise a staff of seven with direct oversight of general accounting, construction in progress, fixed assets, payroll, banking, accounts payable and information technology activities.
• Researched and selected new accounting software.  Responsible for all phases of the conversion and implementation process including the design of program modifications to accommodate specific operational and reporting needs.

• Supervised audits, reviews and compilations for clients in a variety of industries including real estate, mortgage lending, manufacturing, and oil and gas production.  Clients ranged in size from $50,000 to $50 million in annual revenues.
• Prepared corporate and partnership federal tax returns.
